Industrial-Grade Finishes

Epoxy & Industrial Coatings

High-performance flooring systems, metal coatings, and industrial finishes built to last in demanding environments.

Built for High-Demand Environments.

Not every coating job is a paint job. When your facility needs flooring systems that withstand forklifts, chemical exposure, or heavy foot traffic — that's where our industrial coatings capability comes in.

We apply epoxy flooring systems, DTM (direct-to-metal) coatings, industrial enamels, and specialty finishes for warehouses, garages, production facilities, and commercial kitchens.

Stone Lion operates with the same discipline on industrial projects as we do on Class-A office buildings. Product selection is critical — we spec the right coating for your substrate, traffic load, and chemical exposure profile.

Our Coating Specialties

Epoxy Flooring Systems
Epoxy Flooring Systems

100% solids epoxy, broadcast flake, and polyurea topcoats for warehouses, garages, production floors, and commercial spaces. High-build, chemical-resistant systems.

Metal Coatings (DTM)
Metal Coatings (DTM)

Direct-to-metal coatings for railings, beams, equipment, fences, and structural steel. Rust inhibitive primers and industrial enamels that bond directly to prepared metal.

Concrete Sealers & Coatings
Concrete Sealers & Coatings

Penetrating sealers, epoxy coatings, and decorative overlays for concrete floors, parking structures, and exterior slabs. Protection from moisture, oil, and abrasion.

Industrial Enamel & Alkyd
Industrial Enamel & Alkyd

Heavy-duty enamel systems for high-traffic, high-impact surfaces. Ideal for manufacturing facilities, commercial kitchens, and utility areas that demand durability.

Exterior Structure Coatings
Exterior Structure Coatings

Elastomeric and waterproof coatings for exterior walls, balconies, and elevated decks. Prevents moisture intrusion and protects structural components.

Specialty & Safety Coatings
Specialty & Safety Coatings

Line striping, safety color coding, anti-slip coatings, and chemical-resistant finishes for regulated environments. OSHA-compliant application documentation available.

Industrial Coating Process

Industrial coatings fail when surface preparation is inadequate or product selection is wrong. We get both right — every time.

01
Substrate Assessment
We test concrete for moisture vapor emission, surface profile, and contamination. Metal is inspected for rust, oxidation, and coating adhesion.
02
Surface Preparation
Diamond grinding, shot blasting, chemical etching, or mechanical abrading — whatever the substrate requires to achieve the specified surface profile.
03
Product Specification
We select coatings based on your environment: chemical exposure, temperature cycles, traffic load, and required finish. No generic products on industrial projects.
04
Application & Cure
Applied at specified film thickness using the right equipment. We monitor temperature and humidity during application and cure to ensure performance.
05
Inspection & Documentation
Dry film thickness measurements, cure verification, and project documentation. You get a record of what was applied, where, and when.

Industrial Coatings Done Right.

Most painting contractors don't understand industrial coatings. Product failures happen when applicators skip proper surface prep or use the wrong product for the environment.

We're trained in industrial coating systems and apply them with the discipline these products demand. Your floor or metal coating will last — and we'll document everything to prove it.

Proper Surface Prep
We don't cut corners on prep. Industrial coatings are only as good as the surface they're bonded to. We do it right the first time.
Product Knowledge
We work with Sherwin-Williams, Rust-Oleum, Sika, and other industrial coating manufacturers. We know the products and how to spec them correctly.
Commercial Environments
We work in warehouses, garages, kitchens, and production facilities — environments where coatings take a real beating. We understand the performance requirements.
Documentation
Dry film thickness logs, product data sheets, and application records. Essential for facility managers and compliance-driven environments.
Bundled with Other Trades
Need painting AND epoxy flooring AND drywall? One contractor, one call, one scope. We coordinate everything.

Epoxy & Coatings FAQ

A typical single-coat epoxy system takes 2–3 days including prep, application, and cure time. Multi-coat broadcast flake or polyurea systems take 3–5 days depending on size. We provide exact timelines after site assessment.

Sometimes, but usually not. Existing coatings need to be tested for adhesion and compatibility. In most cases, the existing coating must be mechanically removed for proper adhesion of the new system.

Epoxy is the foundation — hard, chemical resistant, excellent adhesion. Polyurea is typically applied as a topcoat over epoxy for superior UV resistance, flexibility, and faster cure. Most high-performance floor systems use both.

Yes. We coat structural steel, railings, beams, industrial equipment, and metal fencing using DTM (direct-to-metal) products that provide both corrosion protection and a finished appearance.

Light foot traffic is typically possible after 24 hours. Forklift or vehicle traffic requires 72 hours minimum. Full chemical cure takes 7 days. We provide exact return-to-service guidance based on the specific system applied.
